It is yet another affordable tablet launched in India. Acer
Iconia Tab B1-A71, for Rs 8K, seems to have come with low specs, high
price
Acer Iconia Tab B1-A71, despite coming from a respected PC and tablet manufacturer, seems to have come at least a year late. Had it arrived in the market at this time last year it would have been given a rousing welcome. But at this point of time and a year too late, I am not sure if is going to attract many takers in India, more so when there are innumerable tablets in the same price range offering much better specifications and features than Acer Iconia Tab B1-A71.
We have many good tablets in the same price band from Indian tablet vendors and the latest HP 7 Slate too comes very close in price when compared to this, though its cost is higher by merely $20 or so. Several tablets already available in the Indian market including from Karbonn, Micromax and Lava seem better poised to impress the tablet fans, as they come with exactly almost same or lower price and matching or better specifications and features.
Lava’s 7-inch Etab Xtron running on Jelly Bean comes for just Rs 6499. The tab despite being priced on lower side comes with rather good specs and features. Coming with 7-inch TFT LCD display it comes with a resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels. Etab Xtron is powered by dual core Cortex A9 processor which has been clocked at 1.5GHz. Along with 1GB of DDR3 RAM and a Mali-400 quad core GPU, it packs enough punch to run all the features more than smoothly. As far as camera is concerned, Etab Xtron comes with 2 mega pixel front camera for video chatting. As far as its storage is concerned, it comes 8GB 8GB. But you can get as much as 32GB using a microSD card. But this is not the only good tablet in the market.
On the other hand Acer Iconia Tab B1-A71 that comes with 7-inch TFT display with 1024x600p resolution and 170p pixel density, seems a poor cousin of Lava’s 7-inch tablet. It is fitted with 1.2GHz processor, 512MB RAM and has two versions in 8 and 16GB variants. It comes with expandable storage options by using Microsd card. It merely comes with VGA front facing camera for video chatting. It also runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and is priced at Rs 7,999.
