Land Rover is celebrating its 65th anniversary and to join in the celebrations, Land Rover India has announced off-roading events called Land Rover Experience across India.
Land Rover
celebrates its 65th anniversary today, on April 30, 2013. Packington
Estate will be the party ground wherein a “HUE” shaped cake is being
flown in for the occasion, by Royal Navy Lynx helicopter.
Air displays will be conducted by a member of Black Cats Royal
Navy team (see video below for eg.) who are noted for entertaining
audiences with their innovative and thrilling air displays. Besides
this, a total of 150 heritage vehicles will be in attendance and on
display at Packington Estate which was the original site for testing of
Land Rover way back in 1947-48.
These vehicles made their appearance towards end of 1960 and early
1970 and were looked upon as a major event in the 65 year history of
Land Rover. Along with this, Land Rover will also display their current
gen of SUVs, the Defender, Discovery, Freelander, Range Rover, Range
Rover Sport and Range Rover Evoque – and include the brand’s latest
technological innovations in the form of the new Electric Defender
research vehicle and the world’s first 9-speed transmission for a
passenger car.
Land Rover India also celebrates this 65th anniversary. To mark this historic event, the company will be launching its first-ever Land Rover Experience customer events in the country, which will get off to a start on May 3, 2013 at Sahara Aamby Valley, Lonavala, where customers will experience Land Rover’s unrivalled all-terrain capabilities.

“Since 1948, every component in our vehicles has been designed and engineered with intent and Land Rover continues to this day, to build the world’s most capable all-purpose vehicles. A blend of refinement, performance and unmatched all-terrain capability make Land Rover vehicles distinctive and unique, ready to tackle the world’s most challenging and inhospitable terrain.”

Investing in innovation has always been the lifeblood of Land Rover and we will continue to develop innovative new technology and sustainable motoring solutions for the future, whilst retaining the class-leading and legendary breadth of capability that Land Rover’s heritage is built upon.”
